EDI.I Statement:

The Electron Microscopy Laboratory is located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) people. We encourage members of our community to familiarize themselves with the relationship and history of Musqueam & UBC, and recommend the Indigenous engagement portal as a starting point for this journey.

The Electron Microscopy Laboratory at UBC is committed to providing a respectful, safe, and accessible research environment that upholds equity, diversity, inclusion, and human rights for all users, staff, and visitors. We support equitable access to instruments, training, and expertise; strive to identify and reduce barriers to participation; and expect all members of our community to treat one another with professionalism and respect, free from discrimination, harassment, or bullying. The Electron Microscopy Laboratory aligns its practices with UBC-wide EDI in research strategies and respectful environment commitments.

Ultimately, to maximize the value of our work, encourage learning at all levels, and to enhance the quality of our work we expect that all members of our community are dedicated to ongoing learning, reflection, and improvement in support of inclusive and excellent research.
